Hi! My name is Cova. I'm from Asturias (Spain). In my spare time, I enjoy hiking in nature, watching TV shows and playing board games. I also enjoy travelling! I have 10 years of experience teaching Spanish at the university level in the U.S. and have been teaching Spanish online since the pandemic began. I have combined both my passion for language instruction and board games to design unique learning experiences.

I teach using the communicative approach through board games. Board games are perfect because: - They allow you to practice all the SKILLS: listening, reading, speaking, and writing. - They present us with a context, and the communication objectives are real. - The experiences we live are applicable to the real world. - The experience of playing produces satisfaction, which increases motivation. - The situations presented by the games are challenging and test our abilities. - As our focus shifts to the game, we lose the fear of making mistakes. - The learning is more meaningful. - There is interaction with other people, and personal relationships are formed. - Everyone who participates has an active role. - The language we are exposed to is authentic. In our classes, we will learn to play different board games. And to do so, we will learn the most important vocabulary and structures in an interactive way. My classes are ideal for intermediate learners who want to be challenged and learn in a natural and fun way.
