Acerca de Claudia
Hi! I'm Claudia, a native Spanish teacher from Spain, living by the sea near Sitges.
I teach Spanish to adults from all over the world, both at a language academy and in private classes, so I know the questions and doubts that come up when you're learning Spanish while living here. I also founded Hi Guiri!, a project to help internationals feel at home in Spain. For it I design my own learning materials, from beginner (A1) to intermediate (B1).
What I care about most is that you actually speak. Many of my students arrive understanding quite a lot but freezing when they have to talk. My job is to give you the confidence and the real, everyday Spanish to handle your life here: from calling the doctor to joking with your Spanish neighbours.
I'm organised, punctual and I prepare every class around your goals. With me you'll get a clear plan, honest feedback on your mistakes and classes that are actually fun. Learning a language should never feel like a chore.

My method
My classes are for people who live in Spain (or are about to) and want to use Spanish in real life, not just pass exercises. Every class is 1 hour and is built around conversation with me. Grammar is explained clearly in English and Spanish, one point at a time, and then we use it straight away in real situations: at the doctor's, with your landlord, at the bank, at the bar or with your Spanish friends. I use my own materials, with a lot of humour, because what makes you laugh is what you remember.
Example class (A2)
10 min: relaxed conversation about your week, and I note your mistakes
15 min: one grammar point (for example, pretérito indefinido vs imperfecto) with simple memory tricks
25 min: role-play of a real situation, like telling a friend about your weekend or complaining to your landlord
10 min: correction of your mistakes, new vocabulary and fun homework
What makes me different
I'm a native teacher from Spain living near Sitges. I teach the Spanish you actually hear here, the expressions, the culture and the "how we really say it", not textbook Spanish. You'll speak from the very first class.
Who my classes are for
Adults and teenagers from beginner (A1) to upper-intermediate (B2): expats, digital nomads, families who have just moved, and anyone stuck at "I understand but I can't speak". Classes in person in Sitges or online. In our first class I check your level, we talk about your goals and I make you a personal plan.

In-person classes take place in a café in the centre of Sitges, easy to reach by train or bus. Online classes are by video call, from anywhere. Same price for both.
