I’m Austin, a native Mandarin speaker and certified teacher (TCSOL), here to make learning Chinese easier and more fun than you ever imagined!
I love getting to know each student and using the skills and resources you already have to help you master Mandarin. Believe it or not, Chinese is simpler than you think—you might already know more than you realize! My goal is to make sure we have a good time learning together, turning lessons into fun, interactive sessions where we play, practice, and improve your Mandarin without even noticing.

My teaching methodology focuses on interactive and engaging lessons that emphasize real-life communication in Mandarin. I use a combination of conversational practice, multimedia resources, and personalized exercises to ensure that students not only learn the language but also feel confident using it in various contexts. I believe in adapting my approach to suit each student's unique learning style and pace, making sure that lessons are both enjoyable and effective.
Example Class Program:
Warm-up (5-10 minutes): Review of the previous lesson or a short conversation to activate vocabulary and encourage speaking.
Main Lesson (30-40 minutes): Introduction of new grammar points and vocabulary, with practice through dialogues, reading comprehension, and listening exercises.
Practice (10-15 minutes): Role-playing real-life scenarios or engaging in structured speaking exercises.
Homework/Assignments (5 minutes): Assignments focused on reinforcing the day's material, such as short writing tasks, listening practice, or vocabulary review.
My Particularities as a Teacher:
As a native Mandarin speaker with a TCSOL certification, I bring both cultural insights and language expertise to each lesson. I am patient, adaptable, and committed to creating a supportive environment where students can thrive. I focus on making lessons interactive and personalized to ensure that students are motivated and engaged throughout the learning process.

My classes are suitable for beginners to advanced students, whether they are preparing for exams, improving conversational skills, or learning Mandarin for business purposes. I offer specialized lessons in business Mandarin, travel, or cultural immersion, making my classes ideal for anyone looking to develop a comprehensive understanding of the language.
