• When did you develop an interest in your chosen field and in private tutoring?

  My interest in language started early, as I've always been fascinated by how different languages shape our way of thinking. I began tutoring in both English and Spanish after realizing how much I enjoy helping others bridge language barriers. I saw that private tutoring allows me to make a real impact by adapting lessons to each student's goals, whether it's for travel, work, or just for the love of learning a new language.

• Tell us more about the subjects you teach, the topics you like to discuss with students (and possibly those you like a little less).

  I teach both English and Spanish, focusing on practical, conversational skills as well as foundational grammar. I enjoy working on everyday language skills that students can immediately put to use, like common expressions, vocabulary, and pronunciation. I also emphasize cultural nuances, which are key to fluency. Grammar can be tricky, but I break it down to make it clear and approachable, helping students feel confident as they improve.

• Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

  I had a wonderful language teacher in school who had an incredible way of making language learning fun and interactive. She would encourage us to immerse ourselves, not only in the language but also in its culture. Her passion really inspired me to follow a similar path, aiming to bring that same energy and encouragement to my own students in both English and Spanish.

• Did you have any role models; a teacher that inspired you?

• Provide a valuable anecdote related to your subject or your days at school.

  I remember helping a friend prepare for a trip to Spain. She was nervous about using Spanish, so we practiced common phrases and cultural tips. Seeing her feel comfortable and confident enough to use Spanish while abroad was an incredible feeling, and it reinforced for me how empowering language learning can be.

• What were the difficulties or challenges you faced or still face in your subjects?

  Both English and Spanish have their own complexities. For English, irregular rules and pronunciations can be tricky for students. For Spanish, the speed and range of dialects can feel overwhelming. To address these, I try to introduce learning techniques that make complex concepts feel more manageable and fun.

• Do you have a particular passion? Is it teaching in general or an element of the subject or something completely different?

  I'm passionate about teaching because I love seeing students connect with a language and gain confidence. It's incredibly rewarding to watch students reach new levels. I also have a love for travel, which fits well with teaching languages as I get to share cultural insights that make language learning more meaningful.

  I'm committed to helping students feel both confident and inspired as they learn English or Spanish. I adapt each lesson to fit their individual needs, keeping sessions practical, engaging, and full of encouragement.
