Acerca de Miriam
Hello! Lovely to meet you. My name is Miriam, and I absolutely love horses, writing, and photography.
Since a young chid I have always marvelled at English literature, such as Shakespeare and the Bronte sisters, which made me realise English is such a rich, replete language, which lends itself to creative expression beautifully. You will learn the King’s English with me, as this is what I have been surrounded with since birth.
I would love to help you, or your child, enjoy the process of learning English. I am patient, full of empathy, kindness and understanding. I love teaching children and have experience teaching them both online and in the school setting.
I use a variety of teaching methods, including games, role-playing, reading comprehension exercises, and stories where we can have fun with imagination. I like to encourage students to practice their English outside of class by listening to podcasts, watching films and reading books in English. I am experienced in improving pronunciation, widening vocabulary, helping children to prepare for school tests, teaching reading comprehension, writing, and conversational English.
I am proud to say I have a TEFL certificate, and have been tutoring children and young adults since four years ago. Online, I have been teaching young people from China, and also children from Spain.
Additionally, I have a broad experience teaching children with special needs. Having a brother with Asperger’s, and having worked as both a carer and then a teacher to special needs children, I have a deep understanding of special needs. I have worked with children with autism, dawn syndrome, cerebral palsy, and also with troubled and traumatised children. I would love to teach your child with special educational needs, and am very experienced at creating an optimised learning environment to suit each child’s needs. ️
I also speak Spanish. My father is English and my mother is Spanish, and I love to spend time with my grandma in the beautiful city of Salamanca, Spain. ️ Being passionate about horses and horse welfare, I decided to study 'Equine Veterinary Assistant and Looking After Horses', and qualified from my Spanish course with the highest mark in this last year. I love making sure equines have access to a life of freedom and health, where they can practice natural behaviours and socialise with other horses. ️
