¡Hola! My name is Lara and I am a translator and language teacher currently specializing in online language learning. I travel frequently and I love meeting people from different cultures and backgrounds so I started tutoring online 5 years ago. I have lived in Spain, Switzerland, the UK, and now Australia, and I am passionate about learning languages and teaching them. I speak fluent English and French so I am able to help students from beginner levels who might need extra support in their mother tongue to explain concepts and translate ideas. In my free time, I love nature, diving, reading, or watching films.

My lessons of Spanish as a Second Language are specially designed for those with a basic knowledge of Spanish who want to brush up and be able to communicate in day-to-day real situations. If you're moving to a Spanish-speaking country and want to improve as much as you can before you do to facilitate getting a job or social relationships, if you have moved already but your job takes place in a language other than Spanish and you feel you are stuck in your Spanish, if you have Spanish-speaking family members or friends, if you want to travel to Spain or Latin America or if you want to learn just for the challenge of learning a new language, these lessons are for you! The aim of each of my lessons is to be able to communicate in a real situation or context in the Spanish-speaking world. To achieve this, I set roleplays and dialogues that will get you speaking straight away. The most important thing is to get you to connect with people in Spanish - mistakes are part of the learning process. And let me tell you Spanish speakers do make - we do make - many mistakes ourselves! Having grown up in Spain, and having traveled to many countries in the world in the last few years, I have a deep knowledge of cultures as well as curiosity to keep learning that I'm always eager to share in class. From stories and legends about fairies in the waterfalls of Galicia (north Spain) to sharing recipes about Latin American stunning dishes! I follow a manual called Aula Internacional to have a sequence of topics, and to do listening comprehensions, written texts, etc., and I like adding my own personal touch like songs, fun kahoots, debates based on recent news to keep it engaging. Of course, if you have any requests on something you would like to focus on, let me know and I'll do my best to integrate it within my lessons.
