• 1) ¿Hablas este idioma gracias a tu lugar de origen o porque alguna situación o profe te dio ganas de aprender?

  It's a mix of both, honestly. Italian is my home — it's the language I breathe every day. English came early through school, but what truly ignited my passion for it was the desire to connect with the world beyond my borders, to access music, films, and ideas in their original form. Russian was a different story entirely — it was a genuine personal challenge I set for myself. The complexity of the language, the Cyrillic alphabet, the grammar with its six cases — it felt like climbing a mountain, and that attracted me deeply. Sometimes the hardest things are the most rewarding.

• 2) Cuéntanos de algún personaje inspirador/a que sea un emblema o muy representativo de la lengua que enseñas.

  For English, I'd say George Orwell. He wrote with surgical clarity and believed that language should never be used to obscure the truth — a philosophy I bring into every lesson. For Italian, without question, Dante Alighieri. He literally shaped the Italian language as we know it. And for Russian — Chekhov. His short stories carry entire universes in just a few pages, and reading him in the original Russian is a completely different experience from any translation.

• 3) ¿Hay alguna expresión o tradición que te llame mucho la atención del idioma que enseñas?

  In Russian, there's a concept called toska — roughly translated as a deep spiritual longing or melancholy with no specific cause. There's no single English or Italian word that captures it. It tells you something profound about the Russian soul. In Italian, I love the expression abbiocco — that drowsy, heavy feeling after a big meal. Every culture has it, but only Italians gave it its own word. These little linguistic gems are what make language learning so much more than grammar and vocabulary.

• 4) ¿Por qué sería importante hablar esta lengua? Ya sea en un plano escolar, profesional o personal.

  English is still the global lingua franca — it opens doors in business, academia, travel, and online communication. There's simply no substitute. Italian is increasingly sought after for cultural, artistic, and culinary reasons — it's the language of opera, fashion, design, and some of the world's greatest cuisine and wine. Russian, with over 250 million speakers across Eurasia, is strategically valuable and deeply underrepresented in Western language education. Any one of these languages can genuinely transform your personal and professional life.

• 5) ¿Qué es lo más difícil de aprender esta lengua?

  For English, it's the gap between written and spoken language — spelling and pronunciation are notoriously inconsistent. For Italian, it's mastering the subjunctive and the subtle difference between passato prossimo and imperfetto — something even advanced learners struggle with. For Russian, it's undoubtedly the case system. Six grammatical cases change the endings of nouns, adjectives, and pronouns depending on their role in the sentence. It takes time, but once it clicks, it's incredibly satisfying.

• 6) ¿Alguna anécdota que nos quieras contar sobre tu aprendizaje de la misma?

  When I was learning Russian, I once confidently ordered what I thought was a simple dish at a restaurant — and got something completely unexpected because I had confused two very similar words. Everyone at the table laughed, including me. That moment taught me more than any textbook: real learning happens in real situations, with real mistakes. I share stories like this with my students all the time, because I want them to see that mistakes aren't failures — they're milestones.

• 7) Cuéntanos qué te hace ser un Superprof.

  What makes me different is that I don't just teach language — I teach communication. I work with students from age 7 to 60, adapting my method completely to each person's learning style, goals, and rhythm. I create all my own materials — tailored exercises, role-plays, reading texts, speaking scenarios — because I believe generic textbooks rarely reflect real life. I also bring a creative dimension to my teaching through digital content and social media, which keeps learning fresh and connected to the real world. And perhaps most unusually, I'm also a certified AIS sommelier — which means I know how to read a room, tell a story, and make complex subjects feel approachable and enjoyable.
