Acerca de Juan José
Hola! My name is Juan José and I hope to be your future Spanish teacher.
I am a native Spanish speaker, born in Colombia and currently living in the city of Medellin. It is often said that Colombian Spanish is some of the easiest Spanish in the world to understand, making it a great place to learn and practice.
I have a Bachelor’s degree in Spanish and literature and have over four years of experience as a Spanish teacher. During this time, I have worked in academies such as the world-renowned Toucan Spanish School and also as a freelance teacher.
I teach all levels of Spanish, from basic to advanced for both children and adults. I love helping my students meet and exceed all of their Spanish language goals. I have a formative and constructive approach to teaching Spanish and make sure that all of my classes are individually tailored to each of my student’s abilities and learning styles.
You will learn Spanish in a comprehensive way, working on grammar, writing, reading, listening and also importantly, conversation.
Let me help you overcome any barriers you may have towards learning Spanish. I teach with a very interactive and conversational methodology. In my classes you will learn a lot from conversation and dialogue. I have worked with groups that directly seek to learn conversation and I have also worked in language exchange events.
I have a Degree in Spanish and Literature and have over four years of experience as a Spanish teacher.
I teach all levels of Spanish, from basic to advanced for both children and adults. I love helping my students reach and exceed all of their goals in Spanish. I take a formative and constructive approach to teaching Spanish and make sure that all my classes are individually tailored to each student's abilities and learning styles.
You will learn Spanish in a comprehensive way, working on grammar, writing, reading, listening comprehension and, most importantly, conversation.
In my experience as a teacher of Spanish as a Foreign Language I have worked for a long time with completely beginning students. I like to help them feel confident to speak a new language.
Before teaching Spanish to foreigners I worked during 4 years with children, that is why I consider myself patient, didactic and interactive, which is why I am the ideal teacher for children.
Thanks to sociolinguistic studies I have studied the differences between Latin Spanish and European Spanish, for which I am able to teach European Spanish.
I am prepared to help you in each of your needs, if you need a specific topic, vocabulary or context, my classes will be 100 percent prepared to cover all your needs

Juan has been teaching me Spanish for about 2 years now and I can honestly say that he’s an amazing teacher. He is very patient, understanding and very easy to talk to. Plus the lessons are always well planned and enjoyable.

Definitely recommend him to anyone learning Spanish!I met Juan Jose in Medellin last December. He is very friendly, patient, encouraging and an experienced language instructor. Juan Jose uses a mix of written exercises, videos and interactive exercises on an app in his classes. In that way, class isn't too dense and there are multiple ways to learn the material. Juan Jose is always checking in with me to make sure I'm understanding the materials and that we're not proceeding too quickly. In that way, the classes are tailored to me and how I learn best. I highly recommend Juan Jose as a Spanish language tutor/instructor!!
