Acerca de Andrea
¡Hola! I'm Andrea, originally born and raised in Mexico but with a curiosity about the world that led me to live overseas for 5 years. One of the countries I lived in was Australia and it was there 2 years ago when I decided to start teaching Spanish as I saw that many people wanted to learn the language and I'm passionate about teaching my native tongue and culture.
I'm very familiar with grammatical structures of different languages because besides Spanish I can also speak English and French which is a big plus when teaching.
I can teach you the Latin American or the Spanish spanish (practically the same but with some variations, specially in pronunciation, slangs and the use of "vosotros").
My classes generally consist of a mix of grammar theory, interactive activities related to the topic of the day, speaking, and vocabulary. The activities vary according to the student's language level and goals.
In terms of resources, I mainly use an online app where students can see the explanation and activities that I teach them each class and at times we also follow a course book.
I customize my classes depending on your needs and/or struggles which I detect on our first meeting or as we go through our classes, trying to fill grammar or vocabulary gaps.

I believe everyone's learning process is different. For some people is better to try to start talking basics after learning few vocabulary, while others need more structured classes with grammar and structure.
So first of all, I like to know the person and detect what are their strengths and from there I customise the classes.
Whatever the case is, I always use course books and different support materials such as activities and excercises and move from simple things to more complex.

¡Genial! I had the honour of working with Andrea over the past year, during which I reached a level of Spanish I had always dreamed of. Andrea is an excellent professor; hard-working and energetic. Expect every class to be challenging yet engaging, practical yet fun. She has a wealth of knowledge regarding the language and culture that makes her an excellent choice for anyone looking to move, travel, or is just interested in Latin America. Above all that, she is an excellent human being and a joy to be around! Seriously, I couldn’t have asked for a better guide on my journey through Spanish. ¡Mil veces gracias Andrea!

She is super clever, she will always find a rationale behind the words or link it to something she knows so once she learns something she will never forget. Also, I love how enthusiastic she is and she always tries to get the most out of our classes. Besides, I love teaching her because of her lovely and fun personality.
She is a very active person, so I'm doing very dynamic classes where we can have some activities, games mixed with the grammar.
¡Genial! I commenced with Andrea 4 weeks ago and have found her to be a wonderful Spanish Tutor. She is very patient and will go over issues that I am having trouble with. She adapts her teaching by using variants that help reinforce the grammar rules and adapts to my abilities and language weekness. A great teacher!
- Greg Is an amazing student!! He always shows a lot of interest and asks a lot about the topics I teach him in class. I find that curiosity amazing because he can learn more and I can provide an explanation based on his logic. Every week that we have the class I can see an improvement as he is moving steadily from a basic to an intermediate level. I'm super confident he will get to his desired level of Spanish as he is super smart and clever.

¡Genial! Andrea is extremely lovely. I would recommend her to everyone, of any level and was so happy to have her as my teacher for 3 weeks almost every second day. She is always very prepared for the lessons with material perfectly prepared and tailored to my needs. Andres is very passionate to teach. I saw a lot of progression in this time. As I already had a intermediate level, I started speaking Spanish the first lesson, and Andrea would 100% speak to me in Spanish, which I loved. It has previously been harder to learn as rapidly with my past tutors that continually swap back to English for their own habit of explaining things. Andrea wouldn’t do this, and explained things I wasn’t sure about in another way, until I understood it. It was full immersion and I am very thankful for this. In such a short time, I’ve made a great new friend. Gracias amiga!!

Every time I teach Kate she is always so receptive, extremely clever, has a great grammar understanding which makes it so much easier to teach and progress as we go on our classes. She understands Spanish perfectly, so all our classes are fully in Spanish. Se has an intermediate-advanced level and can create very complex sentences in Spanish and in just few weeks I can really see her progress because of her commitment to learn.
And the best part, is that she has the passion and the interest of learning Spanish. So even after our lesson, she is always up for more so I give her excercises to do at home and next class she comes back with those excercises solved and even more!

Andrea is an excellent Spanish teacher. I began taking classes with her in person. Then, we had to change to classes with 'Zoom'. Either way, I have made excellent progress with my Spanish comprehension. I had a very rudimentary (and often inaccurate) 'kitchen Spanish' vocabulary (I am a chef). Andrea has not only expanded my vocabulary and understanding, she has been very meticulous about my pronunciation to be certain that the Spanish I am speaking is accurate.
I would highly recommend Andrea for anyone at any level of Spanish language awareness. Not only is she a great teacher, patiently committed to your success, she is a great person, too!!Andrea has been giving me lessons now for 8 months in Melbourne and my Spanish is improving a lot for my upcoming Latin America trip.I would highly recommend her for all levels of Spanish.
