I've been teaching English since 2007, and in 2011 came to live and work in Jaén. Since then I've worked as a teacher, teacher trainer, speaking examiner and Director of Studies. I specialise in flexible student-centred exam preparation for C1 and C2. I know that the traditional way of studying English in a language school, where you attend 3+ hours a week and religiously work through a coursebook doesn't work for you. I’m not like the teachers you had at school. Firstly, I believe that communication should be at the heart of every English lesson. That means that even if we’re working on a tricky part of the exam, you’ll leave the class being able to do something in English that you couldn’t do before, and that you’ll want to do again. Effective and motivating exam preparation I know that the big exam probably isn’t your end goal. Whether you’re looking for ways to develop as a teacher, move into that new role, or prove something to yourself. But fulfilling that C1 or C2 doesn’t have to be a boring experience. I’m also aware that there are a lot of things that can make these goals seem far out of reach. I think many of my learners would say that as well as being a teacher, I can also be a coach, a friend, and even a therapist. My goal as your teacher is to make you love your language-learning journey and to feel proud about what you can do in English.
