Acerca de Steven
Hola, me llamo Steven y quisiera dar clases particulares de inglés. A lo largo de mis estudios universitarios y de derecho (posgrado), he desarrollado una gran capacidad para leer, escribir y hablar en inglés. Por ejemplo, durante mis estudios de derecho, escribí un artículo de casi cuarenta páginas para la Revista del Derecho y Género de la Facultad de Derecho de Cardozo, en el cual analicé ciertas leyes estatales de Nueva York y planteé una nueva ley y una enmienda a la ley actual. Más aún, tengo algo de experiencia en enseñar inglés a niños de bajo ingreso en la India. Finalmente, tengo experiencia en escribir para publicaciones incluyendo Miami New Times y Sun-Sentinel Next Generation.
Hi, my name's Steven and I'm interested in working with you on your English skills. Throughout my years in college and law school, I've developed very strong English reading, writing, and speaking abilities. For example, while in law school I completed a nearly forty-page article for the Cardozo Journal of Law & Gender, in which I analyzed certain New York state laws and proposed a new law and an amendment to a current law. Furthermore, I have some experience teaching English to low-income children in India. Lastly, I have experience writing at an intern level for publications such as the Miami New Times and Sun-Sentinel Next Generation.

En cuanto a metodología, puedo trabajar con estudiantes de cualquier edad. Cuando empiezo a trabajar con un estudiante, averiguo que específicamente quieren mejorar, y baso mis lecciones en sus metas. Si un estudiante quiere mejorar de una manera general, divido mis lecciones entre un tema de vocabulario (p. ej. vacaciones, familia o deportes), uno o dos temas de gramática (p. ej. pronombres reflexivos y contracciones) y conversación/lectura/cultura de acuerdo con el tiempo que tengamos. Sin embargo, se puede cambiar este currículo. Más aún, si un estudiante quiere, le puedo dar ejercicios adicionales para llevar a la casa. Me gustaría ayudarte a formar una conexión entre el idioma y la cultura de tu país y el idioma y las culturas de países anglohablantes. In terms of my methodology for both Spanish and ESL lessons, I can tutor students of all ages. When I begin tutoring a student, I find out what they’d specifically like to improve, and base my lessons on their goals. If a student would like to improve on a general level, then each lesson would typically be a mix of vocabulary on a certain topic (like vacation, work, or the family), one or two topics in grammar (like reflexive pronouns and contractions), and culture/reading/conversation as time permits. However, this curriculum is flexible and customizable. Also, I can assign additional exercises to take home if the student wishes. I would like to help you bridge the gap between your native country's culture and language and the language and cultures of the English-speaking world (or the United States).
